I am a tough evergreen shrub. I will grow pretty well anywhere, making me a reliable choice for roadside plantings, streetscapes, and low-fuss home gardens.
Compared to my common form, I carry noticeably larger white flowers. I bloom heavily through spring, with scattered flowers often appearing again through the rest of the year.
I rarely set seed, so you can plant me with confidence near bushland without worrying about me spreading where I am not wanted.
My clean, glossy foliage stays disease-free with very little input from you, and once I am established I only need a light prune every couple of years to keep my shape neat.
Drought tolerant and cold hardy, I thrive in full sun through to moderate shade, and I am equally happy in sandy soils or heavier clay.
Plant me along a driveway, as a low-maintenance border, or as an informal hedge smothered in white blossom every spring.
I am popular and will make you happy because...
I produce masses of large showy white flowers in spring
I am frost tolerant and cold hardy, performing reliably through winter
