Sisyrinchium angustifolium 'Devon Skies'
Product code: SISDES14S Barcode: 9319711032356 Bunnings Fineline: 0137749

I am Blue-eyed Grass. My family originated from North America.

Habit Groundcover - Hardy Colour
Plant family Iridaceae
I have the appearance of grass but my profusion of seven petaled clear blue flowers with bright yellow centres in spring and summer let the world know I am actually a tiny iris. My common name "Blue-eyed Grass" derives from the eye like appearance of my flowers with lightly striped petals that darken toward the centre giving them an eye like appearance. I work well in rockeries and tucked into all sorts of corners in the garden. Adaptable I can even be planted in lawns where I will blend right in adding colour to break up the green. Hardy I am tolerant of both frost and dry conditions.
I am popular and will make you happy because...
My masses of bright blue flowers form a neat clump on top of my grass-like foliage in spring and summer
Easy to grow with a small rounded form I am ideal for rockeries, borders and beside pathways
My blooms are rich in pollen and nectar attracting bees and other beneficial insects
