I am an evergreen perennial with a tightly branched form, and small mid green leaves on dark stems.
My name ‘Hot Lips’ comes from my prolific and eye catching blooms being two tone brilliant true red and bright white.
My flowers can also be cut to be enjoyed indoors.
My flowers attract nectar feeding birds and my foliage pleasantly aromatic.
Growing to around a metre I love a bright and sunny location.
I have minimal water requirements once established.
I am also happy when grown in pots, a great way to brighten up paved areas.
I am fast growing and require minimal maintenance but do benefit from a hard cutback in autumn and a light feed in spring for an optimal floral display and bushiness.
I am popular and will make you happy because...
My foliage is naturally bushy and has a pleasant blackcurrant aroma when crushed or brushed past
My lipstick red and white flowers bloom in all but the coolest months and flower all year in a warm location
I attract bees, butterflies and beneficial insects
