Tips for success
Keep me thriving
My maintenance level is not yet known. Observe the plant’s shape and new growth through the seasons, remove damaged material with clean tools and refresh the mulch when needed without piling it against the stem.
Pruning: Prune to manage spread when I am actively growing and remove the old canes in winter as I fruit on last year’s stems (one year wood).
Flowering: You can expect me to flower in September, October and November. Local climate, position and seasonal conditions can make flowering begin earlier or finish later. Observe the plant rather than pruning by the calendar alone, particularly while buds or flowers are forming.
Watering: Check the soil at root depth regularly and water deeply when it begins to dry. I prefer even moisture without constantly saturated roots. Check more often during establishment and in hot, dry or windy weather.
